JJ to the Rescue – Adopted Dog Saves Girls Life at the Operating Table
Pretty amazing thing happened recently in North Carolina. Girl on the pictures, Kaelyn Krawczyk has a rare health condition that makes her susceptible to pretty violent episodes of breathing problems and severe drops in blood pressure. Because of her condition, her parents decided to adopt this fluffy little fellow named JJ from a local shelter.

JJ was trained to sense even slightest scents that Kaelyn would give off minutes before an episode would occurre, and to warn her parents about it by running around the bed.

That, coupled with the fact that even the least potent anesthetics could trigger another episode, was the reason he was allowed to be in the operating room during her surgery.

This was the first time ever that an animal was allowed into the operating room in this hospital. Doctors said that, given the JJ's ability, it was crucial for him to be there and give them an early warning in case of an attack. This decision proved to be great one, because Kaelyn did have a seizure during the operation, and only because of JJ's reaction were the doctors able to finish the surgery as planned.

Even the doctors were pretty amazed how JJ could preform feats like those better than machines worth few million dollars.

Mothers gratitude to JJ for taking care of her daughter is endless.

After this heartwarming story about dog saviors, and the article we published earlier about healing properties of pets, I don't see any reason why even more hospitals shouldn't adopt this strategy.
