Mason’s Journey

One dog not only defied the odds of finding his family, he also made this journey on just two abled legs.

The tornado that tore them apart

Mason, the little pup from North Smithfield, Alabama didn’t travel miles to find his home, but he did survive a deadly F5 tornado that hit their town on April 27th, 2011. Mason had taken shelter in the garage when the tornado hit, making his whereabouts unknown when his loved ones went to take cover. His family had given up hope on his chances of survival when they made their return to their hometown two weeks later.

Even nature couldn’t stop the determined Mason

To their surprise, and joy, they found Mason waiting for them on their destroyed doorstep. He had found home on two broken legs, but not a broken spirit. Doctors speculated that Mason crawled home due to the condition his legs were in when his family found him. With generous donations from the community, Mason was able to get the much needed surgery to repair his legs. In six weeks’ time, he was able to make a full recovery and go back home to the family he survived unimaginable conditions to be reunited with.

George’s Story

George, a cat from California, was able to be united with his wonderful family due to the help of modern technology. It wasn’t 5 or 10, but 13 years later that George was rescued when the microchip that was placed in him in 1992 was scanned and his family was identified.

The years they lost

In 1995, after a tireless campaign to find their loveable pal, Frank Wahlburg and his wife, Melinda, had lost all hope. As the years had passed, no sign of George had ever surfaced. Then in 2008, they received a call they thought would never come. George had been found at a trailer park 3.5 miles away from their home, and was positively identified when the shelter scanned for a microchip.

After all this time, you’re still the same

While he was skinnier and sicker than the day he went missing, George was still the same cat in spirit. He returned to his loving home and to the people that never gave up on him. Thanks to modern technology and his strength to survive on his own, George truly exemplified a cat’s odds at having nine lives.

Angie’s Rescue

When a family from Alberta, Canada were in a car accident on December 23rd, 2016 their loyal dog, Angie was nowhere to be found within the desolate area. Despite the bitter cold temperatures that she faced on her own, Angie’s determination kept her motivated to finally being rescued and returned to her family.

A great idea that saved her

A family friend suggested placing a kennel, blanket and some personal items that smelled of the family in the last location Angie was seen. Three weeks later, the shy dog was found in the spot where the items were place. While Angie was a little thinner than before her rescue, she was happy to be back with the family that cherished her.

Jade the Survivor

This is a true homeward bound tale of a dog who survived the wilderness of Yellowstone National park before being rescued and reunited with her loyal family.

Separated by accident

Australian Shepherd, Jade, was gone for 42 days after her owners were in a car collision that left them injured. Regardless of their injured state, Dave Sowers and his girlfriend Laura Gillice tried to get Jade out of the salvaged vehicle. However, Jade got scared and ran into the park woods.

Her owners never lost hope

Over the next few weeks, Sowers looked tirelessly for his loyal companion. Signs were posted all around Yellowstone National park, visitors were asked to keep their eyes open for her and bowls of dog food were placed out in hopes that Jade would be caught.

Jade persevered and found her family

Despite the wildlife creatures such as bears and wolves that roamed this national park, Jade was found alive when Sowers, his daughter and his girlfriend went searching for her one morning. While looking for her, they saw what looked like a deer in the distance, but realized it had black and white coloring. Sowers called to Jade and she came running up to him like they were never separated. It was a miracle she was found and a joy to have her back in the arms of the family that loved her.
