Christian, the Lion Who Rode in Bentley
This story happened long time ago, but will surely be an inspiration for all of you who are willing to spare couple of minutes out of your busy day to read about this lion who ended up right where he belongs.
Story began back in the 70's, while it was still legal to buy lion cubs in London. That's exactly what Ace Bourke and John Randall, the two Australian travelers, did when they got to London.

They spent a lot of time with him, and held him in the basement of their furniture store. They also used to drive him around in the back of their Bentley. Since those were the 70's, it was pretty popular to have exotic pets.

The moment came when Christian grew too big for his surroundings and Ace and John arranged for him to be transferred to Kenya where he was to be reintroduced to the Africa's wilderness.

Several years passed, and they decided to try to find their, now free, lion friend. Although they were warned that there was a rather large chance that he wouldn't recognize them and would probably attack them, they believed that time they had spent together left a lasting memory in Christian's mind. They couldn't be more right.

Lion spotted them, almost charged them, knocked them both over and started playing with them the same way he did when he was only a little cub, living his life in the London's downtown.

Here you can see the recording of their first and only reunion. Ace and John came back once more but couldn't find Christian. He probably spent the rest of his days roaming the wilds of Africa as leader of his pride, as every lion should.
