If you decide to come to this place, you'll have to make a reservation few days in advance, since they are always full. This is also one of the first “cat cafes” in America.

2. Tashirojima, Japan
The residents of this place, that's also known as Cat Island, love masses of stray cats that live on their island so much that they banned dogs from the whole island.

3. Ernest Hemingway's House, Florida
During his lifetime, this famous author got a curious present – a 6-toed cat. He loved his pet so much that he made a pretty unusual decision – he decided that, after his death, his old house is to be used as a shelter for cats. There are about 50 6-toed cats living there at this time.

While cats are not even remotely numerous here as they are on the Cat Island we mentioned before, name of this town when translated means “cat”. Residents embraced the name fully, placing a lot of statues around the city.

5. Hermitage Museum, St. Petersburg, Russia
Cats were actually placed here to do what they do best – hunt. In 1745, daughter of Peter the Great decided to place cats in this museum to protect exhibitions from rodent infestation. There is still a large number of cats there.
