Red Panda – Also Known As “Shining Cat” – 10 pics
Red panda (“shining cat”) is a mammal that lives in the forests of Himalayas. It is just slightly larger than a domestic cat, has reddish-brown fur, a long, shaggy tail, and a waddling gait due to its shorter frong legs. It loves eating bamboo, but it may also eat eggs, birds, insects and smaller mammals. Although red pandas are protected by National laws in their range countries, their numbers in the wild continue to decline. The first known written record of the red panda occurs in 13th-century, and a lot later, the animal was called “Wha” because it is frequently discovered by its loud cry or call, resembling the word “Wha”. It is active from dusk to dawn and it is tremendously cute!
