Meet Cute Pygmy Hippos – 13 pics

Here, meet cute pygmy hippos. They live a lonelier life than their bigger cousins. Their skin is greenish-black. The average life expectancy is 35 years, that's not bad for an animal. Pygmy hippos, whose habitat is in West Africa, are threatened with extinction because of the deforestation and hunting. I still don't get it, how can someone hunt these cute little animals?! They don't even like the company of its kind, they're always trying to be alone and isolated. Pity. Male and female pymgy hippo spend just enough time together to mate. They are active by night when they go looking for food. And, differently form the big hippos, the pygmy ones spend significantly less time in the water.
