Captain Lizzy and Her Cat Companion – 13 Pictures
This is a story about two adventurers and their voyage around the world. The first one is Liz Clark, ex bartender from San Diego, now an eco-activist, surfer and environmentalist, and the other one is her cat companion, who has been sharing Liz's adventures since 2013. Liz started her voyage in 2006, when she got a boat and started keeping her online diary. This boat – Swell, has been a home for Liz and her cat Amelia (or also called Amelia the Tropicat) since they have been traveling around the world for years now.

As an environmentalist, Liz considers this way of life to be her contribution to the preservation of Earth, since she doesn't use electricity, and her major “resource” of movement is wind and “resource” of light is the Sun. She feels more connected to the nature and Amelia has completely adapted to this life, and is fishing, hiking and surfing with her owner. Captain Lizzy has provided Amelia with rubber and a ladder to make sure Amelia will always be able to climb up the boat after her swimming and fishing finishes. But, as the life on the boat in the wide open ocean is not a life for a cat, no matter how well she has adjusted to it, Lizzy started visiting the shore more frequently, so that she could afford climbing trees and running to her cat.

During one such visit, Amelia got lost and nowhere to be found for forty two days! Liz was coming back to the place she last saw her for numerous times, but was unable to find her and finally stopped trying. Forty two days after being on her own, who knows where, the two companions got reunited and we guess Amelia had a lot to tell in her meow language. After this, their love and bond only got stronger, and they took more care of each other's needs.

Liz considers this voyage as her personal voyage of growth and evolving consciousness, and by doing this she's trying to inspire other people to follow her path. Through the years, she acquired many collaborators and supporters, and she was even nominated for National Geographic’s Adventurer of the Year in 2014.
