This amazing friendship started in a really weird way. All three of them were owned by a big time drug dealer who abused them, didn't feed them nor threat them properly. After he was arrested, Noah's Ark, the organization committed to the welfare of the animals got them out of a police impound and transferred to Locust Grove, Georgia, where they were treated for injuries.

They were mostly ok. Bear, named Balu, was in the worst shape. He had harness on, and since that harness wasn't adjusted as he grew, that caused severe deformities. Luckily, it was treatable.

When they first got to the zoo, they were meant to be separated, but since they already grew up together, zoo authorities decided that it's for the best if they were to remain together in the same fenced area.
