How is a firefox made?

Arctic white baby foxes are truly one of the most beautiful fox species in the world. Their soft, silky and snow-white fur will surely leave you speechless. Living in the tundra which is not an easy place to live in, Arctic White foxes break through the layer of snow leaving the Northern Light behind. The Finnish believe foxes make the Northern Light by running in the snow. Their tail swept spark in the sky and from this belief we got the phrase “firefox”.

“Remember that song? Let’s sing together! Fur is dark like summer’s ground. It stalks its prey without a sound!” These two fellows really know how to enjoy their childhood. Baby foxes like to play fighting, bite each other and chew objects they find. When their bellies are full, their parents know it’s time for a party!

Flap-eared cuties

Does this picture remind you of a Firefox browser? This kinda situation actually happens all the time to all of us when we accidentally click “open in new window” instead “open in new tab”! And…what about their ears? Everyone talks about their ears, aren’t they? Fennec foxes’ ears actually have the purpose of being so big compared with the rest of their body. The 6-inch-long ears help them to listening in on prey and serve as a way to dissipate heat because they live in the desert. These gentle looking creatures not only have this super ability but they also have extra furry feet to stay warm at desert nights when the temperature plummets below zero and during the day when it goes up to 60 C or more.

The queen of beauty

“Yummy…I think there will be something delicious for lunch!” Is this a raccoon, or what? Well…it’s not! This beautiful girl is called Arctic Marble Fox and its gorgeous fur color was created by human intervention. Their beauty occurs as genetic mutation called “color phases”, resulting from breeding the red fox.

Beliefs about foxes

“I really adore Sundays! It’s my favorite day for lying and stretching all day long” Foxes are also known in the folklores of many cultures. They were figures of trickery and cunning and were often associated with transformation. Today, the term “to outfox” is also known, and it means to outsmart or outguess. Social animals

“Mommy, wait for me! I don’t wanna stay alone!” Foxes don’t really like to stay alone. They live in packs (otherwise called leash, earth or skulk) and both mom and dad help raise their pups. Occasionally, older siblings will even help care for the younger ones, bringing them food.

“Let’s play hide and seek! Who is going to count?” If you take a closer look at the following picture, foxes hide in the same way cats do! Not only they have this same feature, but their pupils are also vertical, similar to cat’s, helping them to see well at night.
