Big or Small, They’re Adorabe Either Way – 10 Pictures
Many of us are dog lovers, and very interested in all facts related to dogs. I will write about two types of very different but special dogs, gentle giants and miniature toy like dogs.

Great Dane Major is only three years old and he is already 7 feet tall and weighs 76 kilos. With size comes and appetite, Major eats six eggs daily with two kilos of chicken meat and 2 liters of milk. His owners, Julie and Brian from South Wales say that he is the gentlest giant ever. He is not confined to a cage, he is free to explore the house and go outside.

Officials from Guinness will measure Major in next month and determine if he is the next tallest dog in the world. His main competition consists of two Great Danes, Freddy from Essex and Rocco from the United States. Major's owners didn't enter him in any competition, but word about his size got around, and now he might get the title of the tallest dog.

Recently Major met with the Britain's smallest dog, Disney. Chihuahua Disney is 19 months old and so small that she barely reaches past Major's mighty paws. Because of her size, her daily meal can fit into the egg cup.

Disney's owner Natalie keeps Disney away from other family dogs, because few times they mixed Disney with a toy. Disney developed very strong connection with family kitten, and they even sleep together. Disney also steals kitten's toys, because dog toys are just too big and heavy for her.

Chihuahua Milly is the holder of Guinness record for the smallest dog in the world. She is only 3, 8 inches tall and she weighs only a pound (half a kilo). Milly lives in Puerto Rico and her owner Vanesa call her Miracle Milly. When Milly was born she was so tiny that she had to be fed through eyedropper every two hours.

Before Milly, the smallest dog was also Chihuahua called Boo Boo, She was 4 inches tall (10, 16 cm) and weighs 680 gr. In 2007 Boo Boo and Great Dane Gibson, who was the tallest dog, met. Gibson was 107 cm tall and he was 10 times bigger than Boo Boo.

Tallest dog ever measured was also a Great Dane and his name was Zeus. Zeus reached unbelievable height of 1.118 meters. Standing on his back legs, Zeus was 2.26 meters tall. Interesting fact is that that is 1/3 of giraffe's height. I think it is safe to say, that Zeus will be the tallest dog ever for the long time.

Zeus was therapy dog, he had greatest personality, and also he was very friendly to other dogs. His owners provided the best possible life for him, he was treated like a real part of family. His impressive height is the reason that Zeus lived only five years.

These dogs, big or small, are very admirable. Great Danes like Zeus, Major and Gibson are just magnificent in their size and deserve admiration and respect. On the other hand, I think that no one could resist Disney, Milly and Boo Boo. They are so tiny and gentle, they can easily be mistaken as toys.
