A Different Kind of Monkey – 9 pics

These monkeys called Pinche Tamarin, that are squirrel-sized, usually live in groups that count up to 19 members, and inhabit the areas of northern Colombia. In every group there is an adult couple who stays together during their whole lives. In addition, there are more subordinated adults of both sexes in the group. Within the group only the dominate female can give births, once a year, usually to twins. Father, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters share care for the youngest ones, sometimes carrying them on their back, instead of mother. This kind of baby care was known only in our world until now…It makes you wonder, doesn't it?
