No srsly…that tarantula looks like it’s abdomen was sliced in half…and is it just me or does it look like it has 10 legs instead of 8…wtf??!!

the two front “legs” are its pedipalp, similar to mandibles and are a part of its mouth, you see tarantulas prod food with these.

A quick bit of research seems to show that the cross section is in line with tarantula anatomy…
Well, it looks like he lost the rear half of his digestive system, I would hate to see this guy go to the bathroom. The good news is his reproductive organs are further up(or at least mostly…). Still, I’d say he’s pretty lucky as it would appear his heart shouldn’t be to far away! Hopefully a true spider expert will stumble by and identify those organs. I didn’t expect a spider anatomy lesson today… Thank god for stumbleupon.
